Let's see who is a liar...Perrotti who
claims he is "speaking for the members"...says that
DeAngelis' claims about expenses are "false". Let's
look at the document...
HERE

And "thousands in legal fees" is "false"???--Hell
ONE bill is over $ 6000.00

actual record of the Disciplinary
Hearing of Atty Savarese. We feel that since
the case is so important to the Straw Pond
issue we post it

MINUTES EMERGENCY MEETING OF  THE
BOARD OF SELECTMEN  Wednesday, June
3, 2009 – 5:00 p.m.
Town Hall Conference Room

Some excerpts from the minutes:

"Chief Perrotti stated that there is a contradiction
that the Police Union was willing to do the
concessions and not go on with the HSA."

"Mrs. Proulx stated that Ledgwood and Meadowview
were built with federal grants so there could be other
ramifications. "

Mr. Desmarais said that he thinks that charging a fee
for the use of the Transfer Station is not
unreasonable.  He added that the cost to the
resident to do this would be cheaper than what you
would pay Copes.

Mr. McAuliffe asked if there would be a 0% mil
increase.  Mr. Gormley said that last year it became
like a game; so we went through four reiterations to
get to a point where we should have been to the
start.  He feels that we should cut to the chase now;

LOCAL LAWYER FLUNKS AS TRIAL WITNESS

It concerns many of us that Superior Court Judge Salvatore Agati
ruled that when Steve Savarese was sworn in as a witness  he
didn't abide by the "whole truth" part of the oath. What concerns
us is that Judge Agati is now the Administrative Judge in the
Straw Pond cases. Should Savarese be representing us or be
involved at all in the defense of Straw Pond which is being heard
by Judge Agati? We ask this in light of the previous meeting
between Agati and Savarese. Why doesn't this situation bother
Mr. Gormley and Mr. Savarese and why don't they act accordingly
so that the townspeople get adequate representation in this
case?

Number of people who voted AGAINST THE BUDGET was a hell of
a lot more than would have voted in a 30 person town hall
meeting or 45 person fire house election for 'chief'.

VOTE "NO" TO THIS BUDGET THAT
RAISES TOWN SPENDING. TO HELL WITH
DAYTON WHO SAYS 'BORROWED' MONEY
IS REALLY NO INCREASE...AS IF WE
WON'T HAVE TO REPAY IT.
TODAY
VOTE
NO TO THIS MIL RATE INCREASE. HERE

SAY NO to this budget They are raising our
taxes, costing us money by breaking
collective bargaining laws, borrowing
money and draining the reserve funds. This
administration is totally incompetent. HERE

Union demonstration draws more people

Tom Gormley feels it is okay to yell at
people, he feels okay in calling the police on
a woman at the Conservation Commission
who SPOKE against him but when some
men tell him they are coming to speak to
him...he runs away and
refuses to talk to
them...

The Health Care issue between the town
employees and the town is a especially
distressing problem for the following
people:

Steve Ferrucci

Bob Desmarais HERE

Ron Clark HERE

The health care issue revolves around how
Tom Gormley and Larry tried to sidestep
the law as much as  the issues involved

FINANCIAL MATTERS

Does Gormley know that  the local

than the system he is trying to force on the
employees?

Middlebury spends more per capita for legal fees
than  any town or city in CT. Take a look at some
of the items billed by the town attorney, Steve
Savarese. These bills represent just what Steve
takes off the top, they don't represent the
money we pay to attorneys that Steve hires to do
the real work ( at least four others that he hires
) .HERE

It's one thing to argue about what records a
town agency will hand over to a citizen. It is
another for that agency to waste  thousands of
dollars of the town's money.
HERE

Cell phone bills for cell phones used by the fire
dept produce enormous sized unnecessary monthly
bills. From the bills themselves we see a monthly
billing cycle that looks more like the bill for the
entire fire dept.  of Waterbury and Hartford
combined rather than this small town. Take a look

Area towns are decreasing spending
unlike Middlebury...

Look at all DeAngelis has done on his
own. Imagine what he could do if he was
the First Selectman.( if he decides to
run).

more waste
Since they came into office in Dec. of
2007, the administration of Gormley and
Desmarais has increased town spending
by ALMOST ELEVEN PERCENT.
HERE

The current administration tells us that
there is no, or at best, only a small
increase in the Middelbury budget.

Except for increasing taxes, draining
town reserve funds and borrowing money,
Middlebury is holding the line fiscally
according to Selectmen T. Gormley and
R. Desmarais.
